Music is an exciting part of our school's life.
Music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity. A high quality music education should engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians, and so increase their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. As pupils progress, they should develop a critical engagement with music, allowing them to compose, and to listen with discrimination to the best in the musical canon.
Singing
Years 1-6 have weekly singing sessions with Mrs Dixon. They have the opportunity to learn new songs and perform during recitals.
The children are currently learning songs from the musicals ready for our Spring recital!
Children and teachers also sing songs together during whole school assemblies.
Brass
Year 6 have weekly brass lessons with the fantastic Mr Woods. The children will be working towards their music medals.
Clarineo
Year 4 and 5 are currently learning to play the clarnieo with the talented Miss Kearley. The children made excellent progress during the last school year and we look forward to watching them learn even more this year!
