At Belle Vale Community Primary, we follow the Read, Write Inc phonics scheme across Reception and KS1.
During sessions, children will play 'Fred Talk' games and develop the skills needed to segment and blend words to read.
A new sound is taught every day and the children learn to recognise it, write it correctly and begin to read words containing it. The children work in small groups to develop and practice the skills they need. Please help your child to learn the new sounds.
As children grow more confident and remember letter sounds, they will begin to blend sounds to read simple words and sentences.
