Hello Year 2!
I hope you have all had a fantastic time over the summer holidays and it was lovely to see some of you again in July. It has been such a long time since we were all together and I am really looking forward to working with you all again.
I know that we will have an exciting, fun and creative year. I hope you will continue your brilliant and beaming hard work and we can all enjoy the new challenges and learning opportunities together.
Please don’t hesitate to send me an email if you have any questions before the start of school - email@example.com
Please ensure your child is in school as much as possible. Attendance is essential as to not miss out on many important lessons. Persistent absences could prevent your child reaching their full potential.
Having said that, if your child is ill or is showing symptoms of COVID-19, they should not be in school. You must inform the school immediately if your child or anyone else in the household has COVID-19 symptoms or has tested positive.
All children need to wear a school uniform every day. There is no requirement for them to be washed any more regularly than usual, but please continue to keep them clean.
Bags and Belongings.
Children can only bring a coat and a bottle of water to school - they cannot bring bags. Water bottles will be taken home every day for cleaning.
Lunches and Fruit.
Dinner times will be staggered and the dining room will be cleaned between sittings of different bubbles.
All children in Y2 are entitled to free school meals.
Fruit will still be available for KS1 at break time. Milk is 20p per day.
Children will still receive a reading book that should be read every night for at least ten minutes, at home with an adult. Reading books will be quarantined on return to school.
Please remember that homework is a very important part of our learning journey. Homework will be due in on a Tuesday unless stated otherwise. Spelling and times table tests are every Friday. It is essential to practise these throughout the week.
P.E will be on a Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child has their P.E kit in school at all times and that all items are clearly labelled. On P.E or swimming days, children can come in wearing a Belle Vale hoodie and joggers - available from ‘Kitted Out’ (114 Allerton Road, 333 Aigburth Road).
There will be a requirement for children to wash their hands on a regular basis throughout the school day. Please remind your children how to do this properly. Children will be reminded about ‘Catch it, Bin it, Kill it’.
Thank you for your hard work during these difficult times. I will look forward to meeting parents, relatives, carers and community members in the new term.
