Handwriting

Handwriting is a BIG focus now in year 2. Children will be learning how to join their letters. Homework will be sent out weekly covering letters we have been looking at in class. It is important your children practice this regularly so as they become fluent in joining their letters.

PE

PE will be taught by a specialist teacher on a Monday and Tuesday. Please ensure children have their PE kit in everyday as other sporting activities may take place. PE kit consists of a white t-shirt and navy blue shorts and must include black pumps or trainers alternatively you can purchase a school PE kit from the office.

Attendance

Attendance is the most important part of school and I am hoping to see all of you in on time everyday ready to learn. Being in school everyday means children don't miss out on their valuable education, year 2 is a very important year to lay foundations for the education ahead of them.

Reading

Reading is a big focus in year 2 as we step away from blending to become fluent and confident readers. As a lover of reading myself, I am looking forward to sharing this with the children!

Remember to keep checking this page and follow our class twitter page, @MissJonesBVP, for more updates from Year 2.

I am available to talk to parents/carers briefly in the morning or after school. If you require a longer meeting, this can be arranged at a mutually convenient time.
