Year 1: Mr Jones

Welcome to Year 1!

Staff: Mr Jones and Mrs Weatherall

I hope everybody is having a fantastic summer break!

I'm sure you are all as excited as we are to get started into an exciting year in Year 1!

Please don't hesitate to send me an email if you have any questions before we start back to school - mrjones@bellevaleprimary.co.uk

Attendance

Please make sure your child is in school as much as possible as they will miss out on many exciting and important lessons and if their absences are persistent, it could prevent them from reaching their full potential.

However, if your child is in any way ill or showing any symptoms of COVID-19, then they should not be in school. You must inform the school immediately if your child or anyone in the household has COVID-19 symptoms or has tested positive.

Uniforms

All children need to wear school uniform every day.

Children may only bring a coat and water bottle to school - school bags are not allowed at present.

Water bottles need to be taken home every day for cleaning.

Hygiene

Children will be expected to wash their hands regularly throughout the school day for at least 20 seconds, including in the morning as they first enter the classroom. Please show your children how to wash their hands effectively and ensure they are aware of the importance of hand hygiene.

Lunches

All children in Year 1 are entitled to a free school meal. Dinner times will be staggered and the dining room will be cleaned between sittings of different bubbles.

The menu offers a wide variety of options. See the link below for the Autumn term menu:

PE

PE will be on a Wednesday with a PE coach and an additional PE session with myself will be confirmed at a later date.

On PE days, children will not be getting changed in school so will need to come into school wearing their PE kit. Over the top of their kit if required, they can wear a tracksuit or a school hoodie and joggers- available and reasonably priced from Kitted Out- you can order from the school office. No other clothing than sportswear is permitted on PE days.
