Year 1 Curriculum Overview 20/21

Attendance

Good attendance is paramount in order for your child to have the best school experience and reach their full potential. With this in mind, please ensure your child attends school as much as possible to avoid them missing any of our exciting lessons and activities this year.

However if your child is in any way ill or showing any symptoms of COVID-19, then they should not be in school. You must inform the school immediately if your child or anyone in the household has COVID-19 symptoms or has tested positive.

Uniforms and Belongings

All children need to wear full school uniform everyday.

Children may only bring a coat and water bottle to school - school bags are not allowed at present.

Water bottles will be taken home every day for cleaning.

Lunches and Fruit

As the new term begins, dinner times will continue be staggered and the dining room will be cleaned between different Bubbles.

All Y1 children are entitled to a free school meal and snack at morning break time. Children will also have access to milk for a small fee paid to the office.

PE

Year 1 will currently have PE on a Friday with myself and Mr Jones. They may come into school wearing their BVP tracksuit or own PE kits for this.

Hygiene

Children will be expected to wash their hands regularly throughout the school day for at least 20 seconds, including in the morning as they first enter the classroom. Please show your children how to wash their hands effectively and ensure they are aware of the importance of hand hygiene.
