Our Curriculum

In Nursery our learning is play based. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum which is split into seven areas:

  • Communication and Language
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Physical Development
  • Mathematics
  • Literacy
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

We cover all of these areas through a variety of different play based activities.

Outdoor Learning
In Nursery we learn through play and believe that outdoors should be as much a part of a child’s learning environment as the indoor environment. By playing outdoors, children learn to play safely and freely while learning to access risk and develop their skills to manage new situations.

Forest School

All children in EYFS have access to Forest School sessions. Throughout the year children get the chance to spend time exploring and learning about the natural environment while developing new skills. We will be taking part in lots of fun activities including; den building, using tools safely and outdoor art!

Reminders

  • P.E is every Thursday.
  • All children require a pair of pumps for P.E lessons. Please ensure they are clearly labelled with full names.
  • Fruit and Milk is free in nursery.
  • We ask for a contribution of 50p to help provide children with healthy snacks to encourage trying new foods and independence.
  • You can help your child at home by practicing writing their name, singing counting songs or just counting everyday objects such as food and toys.
