Welcome to Year 5!
- Mr Jones and Mrs Carlisle -
Happy New Year!
Hello Year 5 and welcome back to our class page. We have made a wonderful start to Year 5 and we are delighted with the enthusiastic and positive attitudes towards our learning. We have lots of enjoyable and interesting learning to look forward to in Spring term and we cannot wait to get started.
P.E is on Monday and Wednesday. All children are expected to have correct P.E kits in school, which must consist of a white t-shirt, navy shorts and black pumps.
Homework will be given out on a Friday and is due in every Tuesday unless otherwise stated.
Reading is a critical part of our learning, so it is important that all children read at home each night. We ask that their reading diaries are signed and returned to school the following day so that we can confirm that the children are reading outside of the classroom.
Dinner money/Snack money
Fruit is on sale every morning on the KS2 yard at 20p per item.
School dinners are priced at £2.00 per day, or £10.00 for a full week.
I would like to thank parents and carers in advance for your support and would like to remind you that if you have any concerns or worries, I am always available to speak to. Although should you require longer meetings I would kindly ask that we meet by appointment so that we don't take away from the children's learning time.
Remember to keep checking this page for updates and photographs of all the wonderful learning and exciting activities that will taking place in Year 5!
In our English lessons we have been reading Children of Winter. We have used this book as a focus for our writing and we have recently written a diary entry.
In Power Maths we will be learning about multiplication and division. We will also be exploring the use of prime, square and cube numbers.
This term we will be studying the Vikings and we are extremely excited to discover more about this fascinating period in history.
