Welcome to Nursery
Staff: Miss Nelson, Miss Ireland and Miss Wade
Welcome to all our new children and families who have joined us and those returning.
We love listening to stories in nursery! We read lots of stories and learn new songs every week.
Every day, children will practice counting
forwards and backwards, count objects and begin to recognise numbers.
30- hour FREE Nursery Provision for working parents of 3 & 4 year olds, is now available.
15 hours free nursery provision is still available to all 3 & 4 year old children.
Please contact school to arrange a meeting and tour of our provision with Miss Nelson (EYFS Lead).
This year, each class in school is named after an author. Nursery will be studying books throughout the year by 'Eric Carle'.
Our first Eric Carle story is 'Do you want to be my friend?' This will help us to learn what makes a good friend and how to be kind.
Early Talk Boost
'Early Talk Boost' is a programme all EYFS staff have received training in this year. We are using it across EYFS to support children to develop their communication and language skills. Thank you to all the parents that attended our information meeting about this. As you know, sharing any story with your child will help to develop a love of reading from a young age.
For children taking part in 'Early Talk Boost' it is very important to share the story read each week and encourage your child to talk about what they know about it. All parents/ carers are welcome to come in each Friday.
Nursery & Reception: 8.45-9.10am
If you have any questions, please talk to any member of the team.
We are very pleased to be starting our Forest School sessions for all EYFS children this year. Children will spend time exploring and learning about their environment and nature as well as learning and developing new skills. This will include; den building, using tools safely, outdoor art and many more exciting and fun activities!
PE: Nursery have PE on Thursday & Friday.
Snack: All children receive free milk and fruit daily. We do ask for a contribution of 50p to help us provide additional healthy snacks which encourages children to try new foods.
